About Rotor

Rotor is a startup based in the Boston area that is changing how aircraft are piloted.

Our team has built flight controls, communications, and robotics technology that makes helicopter flight safer and more autonomous. Rotor’s CloudPilot system enables safe operations at night and in low visibility conditions and prevents accidents caused by pilot disorientation and human error.

We’re a 40+ person team that successfully flew our first prototype autonomous helicopter in 2022 and are currently developing a production vehicle, the R550X, that can carry over 1,200 lbs of payload for over 3 hours. The R550X will be deployed commercially in 2024 to fight wildfires and perform critical missions in dull, dirty, and dangerous environments without putting pilot lives at risk.

We raised new capital in 2023, and are growing quickly - come join us!
